Holiday Gifts Under $20

Bonjour ladies! It's officially December and time for holiday parties. I get really excited around this time because every year some friends of mine from high school do our annual "Diva Christmas Party". Each year has a different theme and color scheme and it makes it really fun.

One thing we always do is a gift exchange with a price cap of $20. I know sometimes you're thinking what can I get of substance for a close friend for $20 or less? Well I thought about it and I'm going to share some of my list with you. I hope this helps you for your holiday gift shopping.

Valentine's Day Gift Ideas for Her! Cosmetics

Valentine's Day is only 10 days away. I know some people wait until the last minute to purchase things or even come up with an idea of what to purchase for that matter. Just wanted to give you a little help. And when I say gifts for her, I don't only mean gifts from a man to a woman. These could be gifts that you gift your female best friend, your mother or a female lover (I am not one to judge).

I'm all for purchasing gifts that are personal and have taken some thought. Its just a couture touch to gift giving that lets the recipient know that you took the time out to think about them and not just buy anything. Get something that will last and if its something that is fleeting make sure its a moment that they will remember for a lifetime.

In this post I'm going to focus on the beauty crazed person in your life. Here are some things you can purchase

B. Scott Double Kisses Lipgloss
Keyshia Dior's Secret Kisses Lipstick
MAC's Tough Love collection
Crackle Nail Polish

*peace love & couture*

What's on Your XMas List?

What did you all ask Santa for this year? My honey asked me for a list of things that I want, and in my OCD fashion I emailed him a list itemized with categories. Hey what can I say I like to make it easy for people to shop for me since I'm so picky. I even provided him with links so he can literally see what I want. Was that a little too much? I did the same thing last year and he said it saved his life. All he had to do was walk into a store, pull out his blackberry and say "This is what I'm looking for". Said he never spent more than 10 mins in a store.

Here is the list that I sent him this year. I literally copy and pasted the email that I sent him:

Holiday Gift Ideas: Men's Watches

My godfather always told me never trust a man that doesn't wear a watch. A man without a watch is a sign of a man that has nowhere to be. I was much younger when he told me that and thought it was silly but now I agree. I often find myself looking at a man's wrist to see if he's wearing a watch.

Holiday Gift Ideas: Spa Basket

I really like to pamper myself at home sometimes. I don't always have the time or the funds to get to a spa. I try to make Sundays my spa day. In a perfect world I would give spa gift certificates to all of my friends so they can be spoiled and pampered. Until I can afford such things, what better way to give the gift of a luxurious spa experience than a basket full of spa trinkets.

Show Him You Love Him

Ok so I can't only think about the ladies for Valentine's Day. The fellas need a little love as well. If you don't know what to get the beau, or whomever you desire to gift, I have a few ideas for you. I like to get gifts that are personal but functional at the same time. Its just my opinion, but I think guys like gifts that they can use. Get him something that he can use a lot and he will think of you every time he touches it.

Wallets and Money clips: I don't know about you but I despise, detest and abhor seeing a man not having his money organized. It really rubs me the wrong way. Please have your cards organized and don't have your money balled up. And gentlemen lets have a wallet that isn't falling apart.

If you go for a money clip, make it a little more personal and get his initials engraved on it. I think he would really like it.

Ties: IF your man wears a tie, pick up a few that you think he would like, or some that you would like to see him in. When buying a tie look to see if they have the ties displayed on a table with suggested shirt options. Sometimes they look good by themselves but you find out there is nothing for it to go with. Try buying the tie and shirt combos together, possibly giving him multiple shirt options for more ties. This can help the man who doesn't find it that easy to pull his wardrobe together without your help.

Dog tags: For your stylish but sporty guy who may not generally wear jewelry, try getting him some dog tags. D&G has stylish but simple silver dog tags for men that are reasonably priced.

Diffuser: Its just a nice way of saying potpourri or home fragrance. Find a nice masculine smell that you can live with as well. It doesn't look like you average feminine looking wall plug in. It serves as an accent in the room as well as a pleasant smell you both can enjoy.
