Drake Covers GQ's First Ever "Style Bible" Issue

I have seen a number of men on the cover of GQ magazine that ooze sex appeal and style. I am perplexed at the fact GQ editors have decided that Drake is an appropriate candidate for the cover of their first ever "Style Bible" issue. How on earth does one put someone who has not an ounce of style on the cover of an issue that is dedicated to style? I just dont' understand. Yes you can dress him up in a suit and put on shoes that need to be shined and may not have laces...but merely being on the cover does not give one style.

No tea no shade but I think this was a piss poor and lazy decision on the part of GQ editors.

Couture Video: "I'm Into You" Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez looks amazing in her new video for her latest single "I'm Into You" featuring Lil Wayne. Kinda upset Wayne isn't in the video, but then again I'm not sure how he would have fit in with the treatment for the video. Wish the dance sequence was longer as well.

Paula Patton has been looking nothing short of amazing, sexy, and chic lately. She's been on the press circuit heavy promoting her new film "Jumping The Broom" which hits theaters nationwide tomorrow.

Monica To Launch Nailpolish Line with Orly

Singer and newlywed Monica Brown has announced that she too will be entering the world of nail polish collaborations. Unlike other who have teamed with O.P.I. and/or Sephora, Monica has inked her deal with Orly. Her line will not only be nail polish but a complete nail care system. (Differentiation…I love it)



The bottles will have inspirational quotes for women. Where on the bottle they will fit is unbeknownst to me, but that's neither here nor there.
 
Not too sure if I'm going to be excited about the colors, but I am rather excited about the nail care portion. I'm in desperate need for a really good primer, top coat and cuticle repair. The new line will launch in June. Let's see what it has to offer! I hope I can get my hands on it early...pun intended.

I am absolutely in love with the cover for Chrisette Michele's new album which dropped yesterday "Let Freedom Reign". I don't have it yet because I honestly didn't even know it was coming out. Shame on me. I love her. I should have known. Who dropped the marketing ball? I'm on too many websites daily to not have seen it. ANYWAY I love the artwork and she's absolutely gorgeous. She looks like a porcelain doll.

Tutorial Tuesday: Nicole Scherzinger Inspired Look

It's another Tutorial Tuesday here in The Couture Lounge. I really believe in make up education and practice. I often watch videos for tips and tricks and get inspiration for new color combinations.

Last week on youtube I discovered Makeupsquare and I really like the way she works the colors and blends. I stole a few tricks that I like and tried them right away and I loved the outcome.

Couture Event: Aaron Maybin Celebrity Arts Weekend

Mark  your calendars....

Aaron Maybin (#58 of the Buffalo Bills) will be hosting a star studded weekend in the DMV, benefiting art programs for school age youth. My younger brother is an up and coming artist so this is something that is near and dear to my heart. 

On Saturday February 20th there will be a FREE artist workshop for children ages 7-17 at the Carmelo Anthony Youth Center. That evening there will be an art exhibit followed by a black tie affair with a plated meal.
