No More Acrylic Update...

Just a quick update on my progress of not getting my nails done (acrylic) and letting them grow. It's been kinda hard to not bite them because its a nervous habit. You can never get rid of a bad habit. You can only get a new habit that's incompatible with the first. Well I haven't found the new habit so me not biting and picking at them is proving to be a LITTLE difficult.

Its even more difficult because my nails are still so thin and brittle post acrylic. They haven't even been off for 2 weeks. My nails don't look that bad, but I have to constantly cut and trim them to make them look even as they tear away. I just wonder how long this will last before my nails are thick and strong. Any suggestions on something I can put on my nails to make them stronger?

My cuticles have their good days and bad days. I've been putting Mary Kay's Extra Emollient Night Cream on them. I'm not a big Mary Kay fan but I've ALWAYS been in love with the satin hands kit. Really good stuff. I put that on in the mornings, and I just run my fingers through my hair at night after I've put a little bit of oil in it.

I must say I do like taking the time to paint my nails myself and really pamper my hands. Now I need to move onto my feet lol...

Nailtiques makes a special nail protein for people who have just taken off their acrylics. I think its called the After Artificial Treatment pack. Or you could just get their Nailtiques Formula #2, which does wonders for strengthening.

Thank you so much! I'll have to look into it. Where can I get that?

I sometimes see it at drugstores, but you'd probably have better luck at somewhere that sells beauty supplies like maybe a Sally's or an Ulta if you have one of those near you.
