Fashion Pet Peeve: Pussy Footin Around

I have a lot of fashion and beauty pet peeves, and one of them...the kitten heel. A kitten heels by definition are shoes with heels that are 2 inches or lesser and the point of the heel that touches the ground is no more than half an inch and the heel is placed towards the end of the shoe.

They really bother me. For a long time I didn't know why, until I was engaging in a Twitter conversation and someone described women who wear kitten heels as "pussy footers". Right then I knew why it bothered me. It's like a half ass heel. In my eyes go big(high) or go home(flat). Either wear a stiletto or wear a loafer or a flip flop. There really is no in between in my eyes.

I'm not sure how other women feel about kitten heels but I know I can't stand them. What are your thoughts of kitten heels? Are you for them or against them? Do you have your own? Let me know!

Cheap vs. Steep: Beyonce's Blue Louboutins

I've been in love with this shoe but clearly I'm not coming out of pocket for the Louboutins that Beyonce has. So I was on a mission for a comparable pair that would suit my fancy

Couture Quote of the Day: Shoes

"You want to fall in love with a shoe, go ahead. A shoe can't love you back, but, on the other hand, a shoe can't hurt you too deeply either. And there are so many nice-looking shoes." Allan Sherman

2010 Ugg Trunk Show!

As I was working one day in Nordstrom I looked across the floor and was able to see the new Ugg display. I could barely focus as the vibrant colors caught my eye from afar. I had to have them all! And to no surprise they were sold out nationwide within a matter of days.
Now they are online and in stores again (sparingly). Here are a few of my favorite styles and colors.

For other styles and colors visit Nordstrom.

Disappointed: Fall Shoe Collections

I'm starting to wonder if its just me. Is my taste changing now that I'm getting older? Or are my go to designers for fall shoe collections letting me down? I think its a little bit of both.

I recently went to Nordstrom to see what shoes they had for the fall and to my surprise I saw NOTHING that I liked. There was one shoe that I tried on but once I put it on it wasn't cute anymore. It didn't call out to me. (Ladies you know how the shoe has to seductively call out your name right?!?) I had not one Shoegasm. That's disappointing. If you can't joy anywhere else in your life you're supposed to be able to do that in a shoe section. I always flock to the BCBG table...and it was a BUST!

I thought maybe its just the particular store that I went to. I'll look again on line....still...nothing. This is rather depressing. I told myself that I want to step my shoe game up and these designers aren't helping me. Maybe I need to look elsewhere. Until then I'll be sad and shoeless....

Cheap vs. Steep! Yellow Strappy Sandals

I think I'm going to start a recurring part to my blog. Cheap vs. Steep! Pretty self explanatory. Just an easy way to see good alternatives to things that are on couture runways or just less expensive options for anything in general.

These two shoes of course aren't exactly the same but have similarities. The shoe on the left is by Jimmy Choo and goes for over $500. The shoe on the right is BCBGirls and goes for $98.

Which do you prefer? I'm actually digging the one on the right more. And I've tried it on before. Pretty comfy I must say.
