I've been using Frederic Fekkai hair products since July and I have to say after 6 months I absolutely love them. My stepmother insisted that I try it and I must say I was skeptical at first. I wasn't sure how well the products would work on ethnic hair, especially since my hair is very thick.
It is a little more on the pricey end and not going to be at your local drug store or Target. So if you're skeptical and don't want to drop all of the money, do what I do and go to Sephora and buy the samples (travel sizes). They are generally under $10 and its enough for you to try it and decide whether you like it or not. Here are the products that I picked up:
- Glossing Shampoo
- Conditioner for damaged and color treated hair
- Glossing finishing spray
First thing I can say is that it smells lovely. And ladies men love the smell! I don't know what it is about it, but they love it. My father doesn't want my stepmother to use anything else in her hair and that means a lot. He is one tough customer.
It left my hair very soft and fluffy but not frizzy and dry. My hair had a lot of body and movement and the finishing spray just topped it off because it has the same intoxicating smell. After I had finished my samples I bought full size bottles and stuck strictly to the glossing line of products. Later I found a hair mask (deep conditioner) with shea butter. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm obsessed with shea butter. I absolutely love this product as well. Its very thick and creamy and feels like it has granules in it (almost like beads in an exfoliate). It has a lovely smell but somehow after you rinse it out your hair still smells like the shampoo and conditioner.
I've used it when I have needed a relaxer pretty bad, and right after I have gotten one and it always leaves my hair full and shiny (not greasy and heavy) with beautiful movement. I think you should try it.
