Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs (head designer right now) have teamed up and released a new line inspired by the legendary Stephen Sprouse. Now I have to admit, I have never heard of Sprouse until i received an alert that the new line had been released. So I had to read up on him really quickly. I thought it might change my mind and how I initially felt about the line...but it didn't. I still hate it.
To me brands such as Louis Vuitton and Chanel and Gucci and Dior are very classic, have a certain air of sophistication and should always have key elements that are the same. I know that for branding and marketing purposes they must appeal to different facets of people. Let's just say this is one trend I will not be participating in.
There is just something about this line that I cannot get with. Maybe in small doses, but I have a feeling that like many Americans, people have a problem with excess and don't know when to call it quits. CoCo Chanel always said take one accessory off before you leave the door. I have a feeling young and hip trendy women are going to take this too far. I'm very scared...
