1. Pink: I have been seeing some pink. I don't think it has to be pink, just pick a color that you love and do a lot of it and buy various shades of the same color. Take your own favorite color and make it your trend for 2009.
2. Statement Shoes: What can I say?!? You know what looks good on your foot, however if you're going to do a statement shoe, try to make it a focal point and not just another gaudy thing you're wearing.
3. Ruffles: I was never into ruffles in the past, but for some reason I am now. I believe it was the residual tomboy that I had left in my system that made me severely scared of ruffles. It was just a little too feminine for my blood. Now I think they are ultra chic and sophisticated if not overdone! Sometimes there can be too many ruffles.
4. Carry Alls: The bigger the bag the better! I can't get enough of large carry all bags and cute totes.
5. Graphics (prints): A graphic or a print doesn't have to be all over the garment. It can be subtle and it can be bold. Whatever your preference is, make sure it works for you and doesn't over power your ensemble. If you want to look at how to do a print or graphic the right way, look no further than Diane Von Furstenberg . She never goes wrong.
6. One Shoulder Dressing: We know its a recycled look, but its coming back and I like it.
7. Bold Jewelry: There is nothing to spice up an almost bland outfit like some bold jewelery. A nice big bangle or a cute brooch can set something off. I suggest doing it with a more monochromatic ensemble or plain fabrics without prints. You want to jewelry to be bold and the focal point. You don't want too much going on.
8. Colorful Cardigans: Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely adore cardigans. I think they should be a staple in every one's closet, male or female. They are so versatile and classic. You can dress something up or dress something down in a matter of seconds. Some may see them as very boring but if you have one in a color that pops it makes such a difference to an outfit or ensemble.
9. Snakeskin Accessories: I'm not a big fan of animal prints so I will sit this one out. But for those of you who are not afraid and would like to indulge, be my guest.
