Lena Horne (June 30, 1917 - May 9, 2010)The Couture Lounge would like to take some time out to honor one of the most prolific L.A.M.B.'s of our time, Lena Horne. Ms. Horne has passed away at the age of 92 leaving a large legacy behind. Her career spanned many decades providing African American women and girls the opportunity to see such a beautifully poised, elegant and eloquent woman in films and on television. She was the first African American actress to sign a large motion picture deal with a Hollywood film agency paving the way for other actresses that we know today like Halle Berry and Angela Bassett. Her first film was in 1938 and her last recorded song was at the age of 81.
What a career...What a woman...Lena Horne we honor you!
