I know its cold and flu season right now (which I have recently become a victim of) but that's not the only thing that has me sick. I'm absolutely sick, tired and disgusted with women and men wearing pants that are too short! I'm really loosing my cool, so I need to vent about it, while educating you at the same time. What's the point of being angry if I'm not going to help you at the same time.
I understand that when you sit down your pants may rise slightly. I get that, that's not a problem. However, when you are standing up your pants should not be at your ankles. There is believe it or not a proper fit for your pants. The hem of your pants should hit mid heel or at the bottom of your heel (or just touching the ground). That is acceptable.
I know everyone varies in height, but that is why most brands/lines offer short, regular and tall lengths. However, pants do not always come in short, regular or tall. Here is a general rule of thumb. When pants do come in short, regular and tall; short = 28 inch inseam, regular= 30 inch inseam and tall= 32 inch inseam.
When pants do not come in short, regular or tall, they take regular and add 1 inch, making it 31 inches. If you really like a pair of pants and they fit everywhere else but they are just too long, don't hesitate to get them hemmed. They look more flattering and its a good investment. If you really like a pair of pants and they come in short regular and long, buy them in regular and long (depending on your height and what fits you best) so you have a pair to wear with heels and a pair to wear with flats.
Its always good to know what your inseam is for your pants. If you don't know how to measure it click here to learn how or just go visit your local tailoring shop and have them take the measurements for you.
