YSL Changes Its Name to Saint Laurent Paris

View of the Yves Saint-Laurent logo at a closed shop in central Paris on June 5, 2008 as a funeral mass for the French fashion designer is held nearby at Saint-Roch church. In homage to its founder, YSL shops worldwide were due to close for two hours. Saint Laurent, one of the 20th century's greatest couturiers, credited for revolutionising women's wardrobes, died on June 1, aged 71 of a brain tumour.

According to WWD its been confirmed that famed and iconic fashion house Yves Saint Laurent will be changing their name to Saint Laurent Paris. The change will become effective in the production of 2013 garments.

Some may argue that the original name was difficult to say, but if that were the case there are a plethora of fashion houses that should change their name. The switch is under the helm of new Creative Director Hedi Slimane (a former designer at YSL) who just returned back to the fashion house in March of this year. Seems like such a quick and sudden change and I honestly don't think it's the best move. He claims this is just one part of a larger rebranding effort but I don't see anything wrong with the brand (unless someone can point something out to me).

The fashion house is iconic, the brand is identifiable, I don't get the point. I just hope they eventually have a sale on all things with the YSL on them because that's what  I would want.

Maison Martin Margiela to Team Up With HandM

H&M has recently announced that their next amazing collaboration will be with French fashion house Maison Martin Margiela. The famous fashion house will contribute ladies apparel at selected stores which will be available for purchase November 15, 2012.

The simple sketch of the sweater dress for the Autumn/Winter collection is leaving me wanting more. I can't wait until more images are revealed in the upcoming months.

Do you all think it will be a hit or a miss?

J'adore or Abhor? Adrienne Bailon

J'ADORE OR ABHOR?

I'm not sure how I feel about this dress that Adrienne Bailon wore on a red carpet. While I think her face is flawless, her hair is amazing and the shoes are cute, I'm not really feeling the dress.

What do you all think? J'adore or abhor? Do you love it or hate it?

J'adore or Abhor? Taraji P. Henson

J'ADORE OR ABHOR?

I'm not sure how I feel about this ensemble that Taraji P. Henson was spotted wearing on a red carpet to promote the premiere of "Think Like A Man". She is often hit or miss with me and not consistent when it comes to fashion. There is something very matchy matchy, yet not quite right about this at the same time.

What do you ladies think? J'adore or abhor? Do you love it or hate it?

What You Won't Do: Ashanti in Pastel

Oh dear Ashanti, what on earth were you and/or your stylist thinking when they conjoured up this ensemble. It looks an absolute mess. My eyebrow raised when I saw the front of the pants. But when I caught a glimpse of the back and the side panels I nearly hit the floor. Ugh how dreadful. The pants are simply ok, I like the blazer, but definitely not together. She looks like an easter egg gone wrong.

Now this is how you wear the blazer. But how often has Kim Kardashian missed the mark with fashion? I dare say never. She knows what to do.

Couture Du Jour: Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow looks absolutely amazing in this Harper's Bazaar shoot. Looks like she's trying to take over the sexy shoots Beyonce was doing before baby Blue arrived. I'm sure she was channeling her inner Beyonce as she was working this shoot. Yoga and pilates are doing her body good!

Fashion Pet Peeve: Pussy Footin Around

I have a lot of fashion and beauty pet peeves, and one of them...the kitten heel. A kitten heels by definition are shoes with heels that are 2 inches or lesser and the point of the heel that touches the ground is no more than half an inch and the heel is placed towards the end of the shoe.

They really bother me. For a long time I didn't know why, until I was engaging in a Twitter conversation and someone described women who wear kitten heels as "pussy footers". Right then I knew why it bothered me. It's like a half ass heel. In my eyes go big(high) or go home(flat). Either wear a stiletto or wear a loafer or a flip flop. There really is no in between in my eyes.

I'm not sure how other women feel about kitten heels but I know I can't stand them. What are your thoughts of kitten heels? Are you for them or against them? Do you have your own? Let me know!

Eva Marcille for VIBE Magazine

Eva Marcille looks abosolutely amazing (but then again when doesn't she) in her most recent spread where she graces the pages of VIBE Magazine. I can't help but look at her and say in my B. Scott voice "bitch hold my ponytail".

Couture Cutie: Paula Patton

Paula Patton has been looking nothing short of amazing, sexy, and chic lately. She's been on the press circuit heavy promoting her new film "Jumping The Broom" which hits theaters nationwide tomorrow.

Her looks have been reminiscent of the late 60's and early 70's with a modern twist. She (or her stylist) has seemlessly pulled off a retro/modern look without looking to costumey.

Take a look at some of her most recent appearances below

2011 Met Gala Red Carpet Favorites

Here are my favorites from the red carpet of the 2011 Met Gala.

Ciara looks great. Still hate her lacefronts. I wish Beyonce would share her lacefront hookup with others. She's doing them such a disservice.

Janelle Monae looks like she's wearing her normal attire, however its always better when you can say its Chanel. I'm a sucker for black and white, but there is something so chic and feminine about this at the same time.

Queen Beyonce herself graced the red carpet looking stunning. Too bad she couldn't walk in her gown.

Jennifer Lopez...need I say more?

Joy Bryant.....not one of my favorite gowns, however, I am shocked that she is wearing makeup. I don't think I've ever seen her in makeup. It's not a lot, but it still does wonders. Makeup looks good on her!

Blake Lively has been looking like a mermaid lately on every red carpet that she graces. At first I thought it was only the change in hair color, but her choice of draped gowns is contributing to this feel as well.

Iman looked stunning and like a bronzed goddess. Always statuesque and commanding attention on the red carpet.

LaLa Vasquez looked absolutely stunning. One of my favorites on red carpets lately.

Who were your favorites?

J'Adore or Abhor? Angela Simmons

J'adore or Abhor?

Angela Simmons
How are we feeling about this look that Angela Simmons wore recently to an Essence mag event? I know nuetrals and blush tones are very in but I'm not sure how I feel about the ensemble as a whole.

What are your thoughts?
